In 1947, Oakley Jewelers was started by Roland C. Oakley a young man finishing his military service.  He received training from a large jewelry manufacturer and was excited to start out on his own.  He opened Oakley Jewelers at a North Florida Ave. location in September of 1947.  His son and daughter studied the business and along with their mother, Nellie D. Oakley, today operate the business at a beautiful location--2306 South Florida Ave.
